Across our two trips we’ve now visited four different national parks and were fortunate enough to see the entire Big Five, which was unforgettable. What really stands out is the professionalism and warmth of the team. Our guide, Willy, was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about wildlife, always making sure we were in the right place at the right time while also taking time to explain what we were seeing. I've always watched nature documentaries and have a huge love for animals. Being able to see all these amazing creatures (lions, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, forest hogs, mongoose, hyenas, hippos, rhinos, jackels, several kinds of antelope, water bucks, buffalo, wildebeasts, flamingos and no many different kinds of birds all within their natural habitats and not within a zoo or exotic ranch as been truely amazing. Mr, Steven, my guide for the trip, was veey knowledgeable and would give me all sorts of facts about the animals as well as the pointing out the way of life for Kenyans and the Masaai people. It was very humbling to be able to experience others live and work the fields and trade with their neighbors. The sense of community was strong in Kenya. All of the accommodations were very nice and comfortable and the food was delicious. As a somewhat picky eater (so I've been told) I typically struggle eating in other countries, and Kenya was a place that I had zero issues. The hospitality is unmatched as well by everyone I met. I'm glad I chose Morningstar for making me feel safe, welcome and for giving me a great adventure I will remember for a lifetime. The value for the tour was also very reasonable for everything that was included, just be sure to bring plenty of cash for tipping (for bell hops and waiters and don't forget the drivers), as well as extra space in your luggage for all the temptational shopping you might do (just about everywhere accepted cards as well). From the quote to the booking, everything was simple, thanks to Doreen's timely and detailed responses. And what about the safari? Our driver, Augustine, was fantastic, a great guide and great driver, an expert on animals, parks, and African culture. The safari days and the long drives from one place to another were comfortable and filled with conversations on a variety of topics. Same excellent review about the lodges in the parks: the service and location exceeded all expectations. I recommend everyone to stay two nights at the Maasai Mara and one night at Lake Nakuru. We managed to see so many animals in February, some of them extremely closed. For the beach, we chose three nights at Diani Beach. Thank you Doreen for booking the Swahili Beach Resort, one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever seen, equipped with every comfort and impeccable service. We hope to return to Kenya soon. To Winnie for organising our itinerary. The proposal impressed me, it was not just an email with ideas but a professional document. To John our Guide/Driver for making sure that we saw every animal we would ever expect to see - not just the big 5 but all the other animals and birds we managed to see. We were met at the airport by one of the Morning Star guides and dropped at our hotel. The next day John picked us up from our Nairobi hotel and our adventure began. We spent 3 days and nights in the Mara where we saw cheetah, leopard, rhino, lots of elephants, zebra, lions and cubs and more lions, giraffe. Our camp was the Zebra Valley which was placed such that we could watch the animals across from the camp. Then we went to Lake Nakuru and saw even more animals, more rhino. One day later on to Lake Naivasha and the Sopa Lodge which was lovely. Morning star had arranged a guide and boat trip out to the island to see birds animals. A day later and on to Amboselli and the lovely Kibo Safari camp (my favourite stay), Here we saw elephants all trooping down to the Marsh and got the most fantastic photos. John always made sure he not only got us to the animals but he placed the truck so that we got the good shots and was happy to wait until we were happy to move on. We booked an 8-day safari with Morningstar Tours & Travel, and we couldn’t have made a better choice. Our tour-operator, Joysharon, was amazing—she didn’t just nail the tour organization, but she also looked out for us during the rest of our time in Kenya. She helped us with everything, even though she didn't have to. Huge thanks for that! Alex was our driver and guide for the whole 8 days. He was super nice and helpful, and we learned so many cool facts from him about the local wildlife and plants. He seemed to know everyone and used his radio to hear all the goings on and got us up close to a lot of animals. His local knowledge is top-notch: he knew his way around even the unmarked paths in the parks. The accommodations were excellent, and the whole itinerary was wonderful. We visited Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Amboseli National Park and a Masay village in the park, and finally Tsavo West & East. The experience was absolutely incredible, and we felt extremely happy and satisfied with this trip. What truly made our tour perfect, however, was our driver and guide, Mwololo (Steven). He was excellent, his driving was very efficient and we always felt safe with him. He is also amazing at spotting wildlife: we saw almost all the animals you can possibly see (the only one we missed was the leopard, and we were told no one had seen one in the previous three days). Mwololo patiently answered all our questions and helped us understand Kenya, its people, and its flora and fauna much better. His knowledge and kindness made a huge difference. The hotels booked by Morningstar were all excellent, very close to nature, with comfortable rooms and beds. The food at all the hotels was also very good and exceeded our expectations. Lastly, we want to thank Morningstar from the bottom of our hearts for their help when we lost our passports. Both Mwololo and Dennis went above and beyond to help us locate them and organize transportation so we could receive them in time before our next flights.
